Starting with breakfast, the book continues on to appetizers, salads, soups, seafood and meats, pastas, vegetables and desserts. Interspersed throughout are articles revolving around various health issues, such as the anti-inflammatory diet, loving raw kale, or proper portions, to name just a few. The recipes often have unexpected ingredients such as orange juice in the quiche recipe. Overall, these are recipes you will need to plan for, as it is unlikely you will have some of the lesser known ingredients on hand. True Food would be a valuable resource for the experienced cook that desires to create healthy meals with fresh, whole grains that nourish the body, mind and spirit. The book is well-organized, easy to follow, and provides inspiration for cooks that want to learn to prepare healthy, beautiful food.
