Twisted by Gena Showalter is the third book in her young adult series, Intertwined. We again meet up with Aden, Riley, Victoria, and Mary Ann as they make their way through the dangerous world of vampires, fairies, shape-shifters, and demons. Victoria’s father is gaining in strength and striking out at Aden who has usurped his throne as King of the Vampires. MaryAnn continues to evade Riley while searching for Aden’s parents and the identity of the souls in his head. And Victoria is scared – scared for Aden, scared for herself, and scared that their time together is coming to an end.

This book is the best one in this series, though you would need to read the series from the beginning to understand all that is happening. The storyline is more succinct and easily understood, while maintaining the twists and turns of a good paranormal romantic adventure. It was fun to finally see the evolution of Aden, from sad, run-down kid to powerful, take charge young adult. While the ending is not what this reviewer cares for, it definitely leaves you in suspense for book number four.
